Josephine in Conversation with Marta Barragan / Marketing Coordinator of Cosentino
With Le Chic Bohème, Cosentino sets the tone for its latest Silestone collection, a celebration of timeless elegance with unique shades. The intricate colour structures and refined textures immediately caught our team’s attention. But what’s the story behind this stunning collection?
Silestone Le Chic Bohème is a collection that achieves the highest level of aesthetics and sophistication in veined patterns, so much so that it looks like natural stone to the eye. Most find it unbelievable when we tell them that it is Silestone – our sustainable, hybrid mineral surface.
The collection, comprising four unique shades with elegant veining and nuanced patterns, blends the essence of Parisian sophistication with bohemian flair. The standout feature of the veining is that it is integrated across the entire surface and thickness, enabling finishes on edges and recesses with full continuity.
The collection is also sustainably produced through our patented Hybriq+® technology, using 99% reused water, 100% renewable energy, and incorporating a minimum of 20% recycled raw materials in its composition, with less than 10% crystalline silica.
When it comes to designing a bathroom, we believe that clean, modern spaces remain incredibly popular, especially among our younger clients. The look becomes truly sophisticated when paired with well-fitted slabs, whether featuring subtle grooves or contrasting patterns to create depth and layering. In terms of your collection, which trends do you see as the most popular in the UAE market?
The bathroom is no longer treated as just a functional space. With its elevated status as a personal sanctuary, more clients are leaning towards a warm, natural spa aesthetic. There is also the rise of the immersive, infinite, and monochromatic look, where the same surface finish clads the entire space – from ceiling to walls and even vanities – to create a calm yet luxe feel. While most choose a muted palette, some go bold with colour drenching, opting for jewel tones like the Silestone Jardin Emerald from the Le Chic Bohème collection.
Earthy tones, natural materials, and fluted textures have become hugely popular in the UAE. Our travertine-inspired Dekton Marmorio, terracotta-hued Dekton Umber, and fluted Ukiyo range have caught on as bestsellers.
In our designs, we often let the material speak for itself, and I’m sure you’d agree that Cosentino’s slabs bring an extra dimension to any interior. With the versatility of your slabs being used both indoors and outdoors, how do you see this seamless integration enhancing the overall design experience for clients?
The versatility of our surfaces offers infinite design possibilities, both indoors and outdoors. It inspires designers beyond classic applications like walls, floors, and worktops and pushes experimentations with façades and even furniture. A cohesive look is easy to achieve thanks to the versatility and the large format of our slabs. Designers can, for example, use the same wall cladding surface in the living room and extend its application to bespoke outdoor furniture to create visual harmony.
The large format also comes in handy to create sleek and seamless designs, blurring the boundaries between outdoor and indoor spaces. For instance, using our large format slab for flooring can create the illusion of space and facilitate seamless indoor-outdoor transitions – a big plus for biophilic designs.
Your products are durable, and with the right fabricator, they become more usable. However, in the UAE, it’s crucial to have the right installation team to ensure the items are installed correctly. How do you make sure the installation process meets your standards?
Training is the key. In every market we operate in, we identify fabricators and train them up to Cosentino standards and best practices. We also ensure they have the right equipment and machinery, follow global safety standards, and know our range of products and collections.
In addition, we have a dedicated member of the team, an Account Manager, who oversees fabricators and supervises on-site installation. For more complicated and risky designs, we onboard a Technical team member from HQ early on in the project. We follow stringent quality checks and, in case of any issues, we fly down a quality technician from Spain to propose solutions.

During my visit to your factory in Almería, I was truly impressed by your design team, a group that is not only curious and receptive to feedback but also engages with the audience in the evolution of your new collections. What are the primary global considerations that guide your selection of slabs for specific markets, particularly for the GCC region?
Inspira Hub, the nerve centre and inspirational base of Cosentino’s R&D, plays a big role in developing products and solutions that address the preferences of markets and consumers around the world. New product development is based on research, a thorough understanding of emerging design trends, and feedback from markets and designers. Based on our market experience, we also curate and display large format slabs of colours we anticipate will be bestsellers. We listen to feedback from designers and are quick to respond to demand.
Lighter hues and natural stone-inspired designs are very popular in the GCC market. This drives our decision to push colours like the Calacatta marble-inspired Silestone Ethereal Glow, travertine-like Dekton Marmorio, and textured Dekton Nacre.
Cosentino is everywhere, a well-known, innovative, and trusted brand and often our go-to surfaces company. What can we expect from your upcoming plans for the GCC market?
First off, we have just officially launched The Essential Induction, a revolutionary kitchen design solution by Gaggenau featuring a sleek Dekton surface that functions both as a worktop and cooktop.
We are excited to announce the opening of a brand-new showroom in Riyadh this summer to meet the growing demands in KSA. We have also expanded the footprint of Cosentino Middle East beyond the GCC to include the lucrative Indian market.
At the heart of Cosentino lies the spirit of collaboration. Each year we partner with regional designers on artistic projects, and this year is no exception. Stay tuned for upcoming collaboration announcements for Downtown Design Riyadh, Downtown Design Dubai, and the Cosentino Capsule collection of furniture and home accessories.
You can also expect a rich programme of events at Cosentino City Dubai and Riyadh featuring top designers, developers, and partners.
